This committee shall be responsible for maintaining contact with the Administration at the schools within the community of Porus, and to report such activities to the Association along with recommendations and strategies to address, as appropriate, issues, needs, and concerns identified through communications with the school’s Administration. This committee shall solicit scholarships and grants to benefit the students and the schools and, seek and maintain contact with Associations as appropriate, which provide grants and scholarships.

Leadership Workshop & Math Competition and Student Recognition
In July, we organized a Math Competition that saw enthusiastic participation from students in Porus. This competition aimed to stimulate interest in mathematics and reward the hard work of our young learners. We were thrilled to award several prizes to students who displayed outstanding math skills and dedication. This event not only celebrated academic achievement but also encouraged a love for learning among the youth of our community.
Giving Back
Student Shoe Drive
In September 2023, we successfully organized a shoe giveaway event in collaboration with Give Back Jamaica Inc. and Ms. Brown of Porus Primary School. Through this joint effort, we were able to provide over 80 pairs of shoes specifically chosen to fit the students at the Porus Primary School. We took great care to ensure that the shoes were the right sizes for the children, ensuring both comfort and practicality.
The impact of this partnership, combined with the generosity of our dedicated supporters, is truly heartwarming. We are immensely excited about the positive change we have been able to bring to the students we aim to support. Your involvement in this meaningful endeavor has been instrumental in our success, and we sincerely thank you for your continued support.
