The President of Friends of Porus, Mr. Carson Robinson, delivered scientific calculators that were donated to FOP for the Porus High School SCEC teams coming up. The Friends of Porus Association Scholarship Committee is delighted to share an exciting announcement. Friends of Porus Association Inc. takes immense pride in introducing the “Mrs. Verona Cambell Ricketts Scholarship,” a scholarship established in honor of the late retired principal of Porus Primary School. This scholarship, bearing the esteemed name of Mrs. Ricketts, stands as a lasting tribute to her profound impact on the realms of education and community leadership.
The decision to create the “FOP, Verona Campbell Ricketts Academic & Community Leadership Scholarship” was met with wholehearted and unanimous approval from the Friends of Porus Association Board of Directors, a body predominantly comprised of former students of Mrs. Ricketts. This scholarship carries a profound purpose – to ensure the eternal preservation of her legacy and to celebrate her invaluable contributions to education, which will continue to inspire generations for years to come.
In January 2024, we will release detailed information about the scholarship procedures and the application process, providing aspiring students with the opportunity to benefit from this scholarship.
